3 Easy Yoga Poses You Can Do While Dinner Is In the Oven

Yoga is known to have many healing powers and the list of benefits from the spiritual practice, is practically endless. From energizing your mind, body and soul, to strengthening and toning just about everything; from promoting a good night’s sleep to aiding in weight loss, reduced stress and a better metabolism, yoga is the answer for most of life’s problems.

While you only need about 5-10 minutes a day to see yoga’s magical results, finding the time can be hard. Don’t worry though, there are ways to squeeze in a quick yoga workout – even if that mean’s hitting downward dog while your roast is in the oven.

Here are three workouts you can knockout while your dinner is in the oven.

Childs pose

Kneel on the floor with your legs together, sitting back on your heels. Hinge forward until your chest rests on your thighs and your forehead is on the floor. Can’t reach the floor? Stack your fists under your forehead to bring the floor to you. Curl your shoulders forward and, if you are able, let your hands rest, palms up, next to your feet. Hold this as long as you need and let the energy flow.

Side stretch

Standing with your feet together, inhale and lift your arms out to the sides and above your head. Interlace your fingers, keeping your pointer fingers stretched toward the ceiling. Reach your arms up and slowly exhaling, stretch your body down to the right. Hold for 5 breaths. Repeat on the left side.

Standing forward fold

Standing with your feet together, inhale and lift your arms out to the sides and above your head. Hinging at the hips, fold forward, bringing your head toward your knees and your arms down toward the floor. Allow you neck to relax and your arms hang to down.
